School Rules & Regulations

To maintain safety in our Dojo and to maintain a positive and respectful Martial Arts environment, we request that our students and visitors follow the guidelines below.

WCMA GUIDELINES:
  • Always remove shoes upon entering the Dojo and place them in the shelving along the wall
  • Children (not a part of classes) must be supervised at all times, and may not be left unattended
  • Respect other peoples personal property and belongings
  • Keep your uniform neat, odor free, and clean with your patch in proper placement
  • Ensure your toenails/fingernails are clipped
  • Remove all jewelry before entering class
  • Respect the class that is in session:
    • If you are watching class, please do not talk. If you must talk, please step outside or keep your voices low
    • Quietly prepare for your class
  • Demonstrate a formal “Bow” as you enter and exit the Dojo
  • Always be well mannered and courteous towards others
  • Introduce guests or visitors to an instructor and show them guest around the Dojo, being mindful of classes taking place
  • Enter class with energy and demonstrate your enthusiasm for learning
  • Focus your eyes on your instructor
  • Always show your best attention and give your instructor positive response to questions
  • Demonstrate proper posture and attitude at all times
  • No chewing gum or candy in the Dojo
  • Steady and consistent attendance is essential to progress
    • Please notify your instructor if you will be missing class with as much notice as possible (24 hours is ideal)
  • Please arrive 10–15 minutes prior to your class
  • Learn to tie your uniform and belt properly
  • All drinks/food items are to remain on the benches near the entrance, on the wood floor. NOT on the mats.
  • Always remove your belt before leaving the school
  • The matted sections of the Dojo are reserved for students participating in class. If you are not in class, please remain on the benches along the wall, or on the wood floor portion of the Dojo.
  • Please mark all personal belongings with your full name
  • The Office is off limits to all students (unless being sized for equipment, or invited in by Renshi Butler)
