![]() Patrick Damian Donahue, 47, born on February 6, 1970 in Taunton, MA, moved on peacefully on Friday August 18, 2017.
In addition to his Parents, he is survived by his paternal Grandfather, an Aunt and Uncle, & many Cousins. Patrick is also survived by his loving best friend Beth Rivera, his most loyal, senior student and friend Matthew Butler – to whom he passed his Martial Arts School onto in 2016, his longtime friend and student Sadie Butler, and many other friends, students, colleagues, and mentors, too numerous to mention. In 1976 at the young age of 6 years old, Patrick began his training in the Martial Arts and knew even then it was his lifelong passion. He devoted his life to teaching and taught many styles of Traditional Martial Arts, including: Karate, Ju Jutsu, Aikido, and Kobudo, as well as their philosophies. He trained all over the world, and in countless schools, under some of the most renowned teachers. He had a brilliant mind and was also a skilled healer in Koho Shiatsu Massage. Martial Arts were not something he simply did or practiced, it was who he was. He lived it and it was in his every breath. He deeply touched so many lives throughout the course of his short life on this planet, and will live on through all of them. Through his teachings he is immortalized. He spread love, kindness, and compassion to everyone he came into contact with. SERVICES: Patrick’s last wishes were not to have a somber funeral service – rather, he wanted to have a celebration including martial arts, music, food, and friends. In honoring his wishes, we are hosting A Celebration of Life at his family Dojo, White Crane Martial Arts, at 28 Roxbury Street Keene, NH 03431 on Friday September 8, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. - on wards and continuing on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 9 a.m. - on wards. Information may be found online here. Flowers may be mailed to: 271 Gilsum St. Keene, NH 03431 and will be displayed on the Showmen at the Dojo. Since this Celebration is his formal funeral – we’d love to cover the Shomen and Dojo in flowers, just as you would a typical funeral – so please send flowers and let’s show Patrick just how loved he is. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a Memorial Donation to The Patrick Donahue Martial Arts Scholarship. All donations may be made in person at the Dojo, and checks may also be made out to “White Crane Martial Arts” and mailed to any TD Bank Branch. To make an online donation, please use the donation box on the right hand side of this page. The Scholarship will be ongoing and donations may be made at any time, now and in the future.
