Ju Jutsu is a grappling art that incorporates locks, pins, throws, takedowns, and chokes. It was developed on mainland Japan and was used by the samurai in battle in addition to their katana, wakisashi, tessen, and other weapons they might have had. It has been around for hundreds   of years.
Since then it has branched into hundreds of styles and sub-styles including various styles of Aikido, Ju Jutsu, Aiki Ju Jutsu, Judo, and others. The term aiki budo means "harmonious energy and martial ways" and it is an umbrella term that includes all of the Japanese arts listed above.
